Teaching Philosophy

Courses Taught

My teaching philosophy is rooted in a balance of guidance, autonomy, and real-world application. Drawing from my background in marketing, events management, and project management, I believe students learn best when they are given clear expectations, meaningful challenges, and the opportunity to take ownership of their learning.

I recognize that every student learns differently, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to education. Just as effective leaders adapt their management style to the needs of their team, I strive to tailor my communication, feedback, and support to help students succeed. My goal is to create an environment where students feel both challenged and supported as they develop confidence in their abilities.

I am particularly passionate about experiential learning and connecting classroom concepts to professional practice. My courses are designed to mirror real-world experiences, allowing students to apply what they learn through projects, presentations, professional portfolios, and collaborative problem-solving. Whether preparing students for interviews, workplace communication, or navigating intercultural interactions, I aim to equip them with practical skills they can carry into their careers.

Above all, I view teaching as a partnership. I encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and independent learning while remaining accessible as a mentor and resource. My hope is that students leave my courses not only with a stronger understanding of the subject matter, but with greater confidence in their ability to communicate, adapt, and succeed in future academic and professional environments.

  • "(took cos 391) This professor was honestly great. The material is not easy, but they explain it in a way that actually makes sense and doesn't feel overwhelming. The assignments were really interactive and kept me engaged instead of just doing busy work. I also liked how some of the assignments were more personal. Overall, I learned a lot!"
